Writing With Purpose

As a young college student,  I left home to ... well, leave home.  I started out as a computer science major who never owned a computer before.  This was back before e-mail and all the other things we do on computers that we take for granted.  This was the beginning of the computer age.  Back when a computer had a larger office than the owner of the company, for those companies that owned computers.  But then, through learning about my own abilities, I transitioned to Math, to English, to Teaching and eventually said "get me out of here" and graduated with a degree in English with a minor in Journalism.

And yet, I've never been known for my writing.

Then, I started working in Sales, using my math skills and typing skills, and communication skills.  I married and finally started my family. (This is one of those things about my life that I will share, at another time.)  With my daughter sleeping on my shoulder, I went back to school and earned my advanced accounting degree.  One of my first call-backs from an accounting firm was because of my English Degree.  Go figure.  But I am back to work, using all of my small talents and able to say my Accounting Degree was worth it.

This Blog, is for my English Degree.

Here, I hope to expand my ability to write about something someone actually would like to read.  I will do my best to keep it interesting.  But I will also be honest.  As a co-worker once told me, "You have too much drama in your life."  I didn't let him forget it.  Because that is the best way to describe my life.  Or Lives.  Because as we grow, and age, and change, we are like a year and how it is broken into seasons.  We have different lives.

Hopefully, my stories, my experience, my lessons can be shared and benefit others.
